Q: Where is my closing going to take place?
A: The closing will take place at the title or attorney’s office in most cases. You will be informed by your loan Officer before the closing.
Q: Can I write a personal check for the closing cost at closing?
A: No, you must bring in certified funds, and cashier’s check or money order to the closing.
Q: Whom should the cashier’s check be made out to?
A: The title company or closing attorney’s office name.
Q: When will I be notified of the exact cost of closing?
A: Approximately 24 hours before the closing, the loan officer will call you to go over all the cost and answer questions.
Q: When do my payments start?
A: Traditionally, if closing after the 7Th of any given month, you will not pay until the first of the month preceding the next month.
For example, if you close on the 8TH of the month (JUNE) and that particular month has 30 calendar day in the month then you will pay 22 days of interest to carry you through to the next month (JULY) and you will not start you payment plan until the following month (August).
Q: In Florida if I’m married and my spouse is not going to be on the loan does (He or She) have to be at the closing?
A: YES, they have to sign the deed of ownership. So yes, they need to be at the closing.
Q: If I or we are going to be out of town or not able to physically be at the closing, can we still close the transaction?
A: YES, just give us a specific place your going to be and we can get the documents to you. You will need to have in place a notary to have all documents notarized, also you’ll need to over night the documents back to the closing agents may it be Title or Attorney’s office.
